FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do your tours cost?

All of our tours have a base price of £650 per day. That’s for 1 to 6 people on a
day tour or 1 to 4 people on a multiday tour. The base price doesn’t change, no
matter how many people you want to book for, or which tour you’d like to
take. Entrances to attractions, meals and accommodation (where applicable)
are all extra.

How many people can you take on tour?

We can take a maximum of 6 people on a day tour, or 4 people on a multiday
tour. This reduced number on the multiday tours is because of limited luggage
space. With only 4 people, you don’t need to worry how large your bags are.

Does your tour guide wear a kilt?

Yes. Yes he does.

Are attractions included in your tours?

No, attractions like castles, whisky distilleries etc are all charged extra. This is
because these things are charged on a per person basis. We will, however, pre-
book these attractions for you. We do not take any commission for booking
things for you, this is included in the base price we charge for the tour.

Can you book accommodation for me?

Sadly, because we’re not a registered travel agent, we can’t book
accommodation on our multiday tours. Instead, we can send you links to book
accommodation yourself, but we will recommend particular hotels/guest
houses etc based on what we think are the best places using our years of
experience of travelling around Scotland.

Do all your tours begin and end in Edinburgh?

We’re based in Edinburgh, but if you want to begin or end a tour in Glasgow, St
Andrews or Gleneagles (or anywhere within a one hour drive of Edinburgh)
we’re happy to accommodate you and change the tour accordingly. Just email
us and ask.

Are children welcome on your tours?

Everyone is welcome on our tours. We do ask, though, that you let us know
when booking what ages any children are. This is so we can provide a child seat
when necessary.

Do you do airport pickups or transfers?

We could, but our standard rate of £650 per day would apply. We recommend
using a local taxi, which you could book for approxima
tely £40 - £50 for a
transfer.

I don’t like the look of any of the listed tours. Can you make a tour specially
for me?

Yes, absolutely. We will take you anywhere you want to go, as far north as the
Orkney Islands or as far south as York in England. Just email our guide Barney
at barney@myscottishtour.com, and we can work together to make the
perfect tour for you.

Sounds great. How do I book and pay?

Email our guide Barney at barney@myscottishtour.com and let him know what you'd like to do. Once you've agreed on a tour, we'll send you a secure link to pay a 10% non-refundable deposit by card. We'll then ask for the remainder of the payment 28 days before your tour commences.

What’s your cancellation policy?

All bookings can be cancelled (minus the 10% deposit) up to 28 days before your tour. After this point, all payments are non-refundable.

If you have to cancel last minute because of your personal circumstances, please
ensure you have travel insurance to cover this.

If we have to cancel last minute due to driver guide illness or emergency, you
will of course receive a full refund and we will do our best to source an
alternative company to accommodate you.

I have a question which hasn’t appeared in these FAQs. How do I contact
you?

You can ask our guide Barney any question you like. Just contact him
personally at barney@myscottishtour.com.
